Why Take a Pet First Aid & CPR Class?

Just like with humans, emergencies with pets can happen at any time. From choking and cuts to sudden illness or injury, knowing how to respond quickly and effectively can make all the difference. Our Pet First Aid & CPR classes teach you how to:

  • Recognize Signs of Distress: Learn how to identify the early signs that your pet may be in distress, such as breathing difficulties, abnormal behavior, or physical injury.
  • Administer CPR: In the unfortunate event that your pet stops breathing or their heart stops, we’ll teach you the proper technique for performing CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
  • Treat Common Injuries: Our classes cover how to handle common pet injuries such as cuts, bites, burns, and broken bones. You’ll also learn how to bandage wounds and stabilize injuries until you can get to the vet.
  • Respond to Choking: Choking can happen when a pet swallows something dangerous. We’ll show you how to safely remove obstructions and prevent further harm.
  • Handle Poisoning: Pets can easily ingest toxic substances without you knowing. We teach you what to do if your pet has been poisoned and how to act quickly to prevent long-term damage.

  • How to treat cuts, bruises, and minor wounds
  • Recognizing signs of heat stroke, hypothermia, and shock
  • Handling allergic reactions, including bee stings and food allergies
